Clinician, Educator & Mom

Clinician. I absolutely love my job. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and Pediatric Feeding Therapist. Feeding is a complex process involving all of the senses, 26 muscles, 6 cranial nerves and multiple systems.  It’s one of the first ways we connect and nurture our children. It’s also something we do multiple times a day so when it’s not going the way we envisioned, it can cause a lot of stress. I have witnessed the overwhelm that can come with navigating feeding difficulties.

I am passionate about partnering with families and other professionals to put together the pieces of each unique feeding puzzle. It is truly rewarding to empower parents with tools to help their children and to ultimately enjoy and thrive in the feeding experience.  Before transitioning to private practice, I spent nearly 10 years at a children’s hospital where I was able to provide assessment and intervention for patients with a variety of speech, language and feeding needs with a specialization in infants and toddlers with Pediatric Feeding Disorder. I currently provide clinical feeding and early language assessment and intervention for infants and young children at my office in Haddon Heights, NJ. In-home visits are available in the Philadelphia & South Jersey area. I complete swallow imaging through a local hospital as needed.

My broader speech and language interests are in early language development and working with parents to progress communication skills.

Educator. I am a professor at a local university master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology where I teach on my biggest passion: Dysphagia (Feeding & Swallowing Disorders). I speak at professional conferences on pediatric feeding disorders in infants and young children and on interdisciplinary care. I serve on the Shannon Goldwater Committee for Feeding Matters.

Mom. My husband and I are raising 2 young children (very imperfectly).
